What is theOregon Public Library Centennial Community Read?
We want to encourage as many people in the Oregon
area to read the same book at the same time. The goal
is to foster community by providing a forum for public
discussion, interaction, and most of all, demonstrate that
reading can be fun!
See schedule below for monthly Readers Theatre information.
A Visit with Jerry Apps, Saturday, October 23, Senior Center, 6-8 pm,
Living a Country Year:
Wit and Wisdom from the
Good Old Days
by Wisconsin author
Jerry Apps
In this warm hearted memoir, Apps tells of growing up on a farm near Wild Rose in the 1940's. The chapters are arranged from January to December and talk about love and respect for the land and for a vanishing rural way of life by using personal incidents, adventures, recipes, observations and thoughts for each month. Come and join us in reading this delightful book!
Over 100 copies are available for check out at the library.

The library is co-sponsoring a Reader's Theatre series with the Oregon Area Senior Center. Library staff will read a chapter and the Senior Center will provide a sample of the recipe. See the Centennial Calendar below or the Centennial brochure for the dates each month!
