No registration. For K-5 children and families.
Location: Children's Area.
First Chapter Friday is a sneak-peek of a chapter book to entice children to want to read the rest of the book. We will read aloud just the first chapter of a book (or the first 10 minutes of a book with short chapters). The goal is to get children so intrigued by the first chapter, that they want to read more! Often the books are also the first in a series to start them on a longer reading adventure.
Don’t like the first chapter? We will share other titles on the same theme but different reading levels and subjects to have something for everyone. After the read aloud, librarians will be available to answer questions and help you find books to read!
