4 Pick Up Pattern Selection

The pick up pattern you will want depends on how many people are recording and your room set up.

Stereo

Stereo mode picks up sound from left to right in front of the microphone. Great for recording music or a 3-person podcast.

Omnidirectional

Omnidirectional mode picks up sound all around the microphone. Great for conference calls and captures the feeling of "being there."

cardioid

Cardioid

Cardioid mode captures sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone. Great for podcasting, game streaming, YouTube productions, music, or anything where there is only one sound source.

Bidirectional

Bidirectional mode picks up sound from both the front and rear of the microphone, but not the sides. Ideal for 2 -person podcasts.

Mic Gain Settings

Use the gain knob to control the gain (sensitivity) of Yeti’s microphone elements. 

When recording in USB mode, begin recording with this knob centered. If you are experiencing digital distortion with a very loud sound source, simply decrease the gain counterclockwise. If you desire higher sensitivity, simply increase the gain by turning clockwise.

Headphone Jack with Volume Control

You can plug headphones directly into the microphone and adjust the volume from the microphone. on content.

Instant Mute

If you want to silence the microphone, hit the instant mute button and it will go silent.
